Waʻa Visual ArtsEvery 2nd Saturday we will meet out in God’s creation. If you need a ride, we’ll work it out! Come and join the conversation related to visual arts, theology, and our unique intersection of cultures out here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. E komo mai!!! All are welcome!!!
Wa‘a VISUAL ARTS founding members were inspired by the mission of Episcopal Church and Visual Arts (ECVA), a national organization whose mission is to encourage artists to engage the visual arts in the spiritual life of the church. ECVA valued the significance of visual imagery in spiritual formation and the development of faith. Wa‘a VISUAL ARTS was formed with the vision of joining the national ECVA as a Hawai‘i chapter. However, before we were able to send in our application, the organization parted ways. Since then, Wa‘a VISUAL ART has continued to meet, to paint, to explore our own creative gifts and our spiritual journeys through the visual arts. If you have been moved to put a pencil to paper, or to capture a moment with a digital camera and don’t have the opportunity, supplies, and/or past instruction to call upon, come join us!!! We currently have an acrylic/watercolor instructor and an experienced photographer that is willing to help. |
